Inspired by the nearby mountainous landscape, this contemporary home displays a gentle strength represented in its high-reaching ceilings and rugged concrete finishes. These masterful features created a concern for the new homeowners who desired a warm and inviting home without comprising the integrity of the architecture.
Interior furnishings such as area rugs were added to define living spaces, contribute color and pattern, and balance the loftiness of the rooms. A unique light fixture was selected for the dining area to add visual interest with its buoyant and spherical design. A circular motif influenced by arched windows is repeated in the graceful curve of the sectional, the corresponding coffee table, and arcing floor lamp. Cowhide chairs with modern steel frames offered a new twist on the ‘Old West’, and are positioned in front of expansive windows to preserve the view, and provide additional seating. Organic wall décor constructed from vine wood captures the essence of the surrounding desert environment; and provides movement and dimension.
A custom linen headboard and frame built for the master bedroom integrates floating nightstands and flexible lamps for reading. Color strategically placed on the sofas in the den furnished vitality and warmth against the neutral walls and floors, and continues to compliment the ever-changing palette of the southwestern sunset.
